‘One we should look out for’: Liverpool could yet sign ‘fantastic’ midfielder or four-time title-winner, journalist says

Liverpool could still go into the transfer market and try to sign a new forward, with Matheus Nune and Leroy Sane not out of the question.

That’s according to journalist Dean Jones anyway, who has been speaking on tonight’s to give his latest information on all things Premier League.

What Jones Said About Liverpool Transfers

Jones, who confesses to being a Fulham fan, was speaking at length about Liverpool and how they looked without Mane at the weekend. And speaking about how the Reds lacked a threat without him, he suggests that a player like Nunes or Sane could still be signed.

“Liverpool didn’t look like they needed a lot coming into this season. They very much trust the vision of this team. They have strengthened so they have people to come in, like Harvey Elliott and Fabio Carvalho,” Jones .

“It wouldn’t totally surprise me though now if Liverpool do make an offer for either a midfielder or a forward, I think they’ll only do one or the other. Obviously Matheus Nunes at Sporting is one that we should look out. It’s a market people are loving at the moment. And I know Liverpool have scouting reports. They think his profile is perfect.

“Then you look at Leroy Sane and you think well why do Liverpool want Sane? But when they haven’t got Sadio Mane has an option, I do wonder if they’ll go back into the market for someone like that. If they struggle in the next few game weeks, I think we might see Liverpool accept they need someone more like that.”

TBR’s View: Sane To Liverpool Would Be Frightening

Both Nunes and Sane are good players in their own right but the idea of Liverpool replacing Mane with a speed merchant like Leroy Sane would send shivers down the spine of PL defences.

Sane was a class act for Manchester City and has done well for Bayern as well. Yes, he is down the pecking order a bit now but Liverpool seem the ideal club for him if he’s to move on.

Rest assured, if Liverpool do make a move then it will be for a top player. And Sane – as well as Nunes – are both in that bracket.
