Journalist claims Leno has already said his goodbyes at Arsenal
Journalist Charles Watts that no-one at Arsenal is expecting Bernd Leno to still be at the club next season, with the goalkeeper believed to have already said his goodbyes to everyone at the training ground.
Leno has long been linked with a move away from the Emirates. Of course, he lost his place to Aaron Ramsdale early on in the campaign this past season.

Reports claimed that Newcastle wanted him in January. And more recently, Benfica have been looking at the Germany international. It has been suggested that Arsenal could sell the 30-year-old for just £8.5 million. He signed for in 2018.
Watts has suggested that everything is a little quiet concerning Leno right now. However, he did claim that those at Arsenal will be very surprised if Leno is still with the club next season.

“We know he is pretty much certain to leave Arsenal this summer. Arsenal have signed Matt Turner, he’s going to be coming in and will be number two to Aaron Ramsdale next season. Everyone at the club’s expecting Leno to go,” .
“I believe Leno said his goodbyes at the end of the season around London Colney. No-one’s expecting Bernd Leno to come back for next season. He wants to go, he wants to try and play somewhere so he can try and get himself into the World Cup squad at the end of the year.”
Leno said his goodbyes at Arsenal
Arsenal will hope that Leno can hand their transfer budget a boost this summer. He is an excellent goalkeeper, with Mikel Arteta once labelling him ‘‘.
Few expected Ramsdale to take the number one spot so quickly. And that meant that Leno had to endure a largely frustrating season. But he kept what looked to be a massive clean sheet against Aston Villa in March, and he had arguably been Arsenal’s best player in those opening three games.
It looks to be best for everyone for a move to be agreed. Leno can start a fresh chapter in his career where he will presumably play regularly.
Arsenal meanwhile, can set their sights on a decent fee for a player who was forced into a peripheral role this past season.
