‘Still waiting for green light’: Journalist says player has passed medical but Leeds yet to ok deadline day deal
Leeds United winger Daniel James is expected to sign for Fulham before the deadline tonight but as yet, the Whites have yet to ok the deal.
James has emerged as a target for clubs in recent days in what is a surprising turn of events given James was only a £25m signing in 2021 for the Elland Road club. Tottenham have been linked, but it is Fulham who appear to have got close to the finishing line with a deal.
However, not all is wrapped up just yet. According to Leeds have yet to green light the deal, even though James has indeed passed his medical at Craven Cottage.
Leeds were hoping to get a replacement over the line for James and were close to signing Bamba Dieng earlier in the day before he completed a remarkable u-turn when at the airport.
It remains to be seen if Leeds will go for another player before they ok this James deal. Once again, it seems the Welsh winger is left hanging around right up until the deadline in order to know his future.
Of course, his move to Leeds fell through a few years back right at the deadline before he eventually ended up at Manchester United.
