‘Really wanted the move’: Journalist claims Arsenal failed to bid for ‘incredible’ player despite door being wide open
Arsenal have been linked with a move for Youri Tielemans all summer long but in the end, didn’t even make a bid for the Belgian midfielder.

Tielemans is playing for the Foxes tonight against Manchester United and is thought to have been keen on making the switch to Arsenal all summer. However, with the deadline creeping ever closer as we speak, Tielemans looks set to remain in Leicester for the time being at least.
And according to journalist , Arsenal never even lodged a bid of any sorts for Tielemans, despite all the talk.
It appears there was a wide open door for Arsenal to sign Tielemans here but for one reason or another, Edu and Mikel Arteta pursued different avenues. Of course, few Gunners fans will be complaining. The club have spent more than £100m again this summer and signed some fine players, while their start to the season has been excellent.
For Tielemans, it looks like being a case of the player simply needing to knuckle down and get on with it at Leicester for the time being. After seeing Wesley Fofana sold for big money, the Belgian was hoping for the same.
January, then, could well see Arsenal revisit this one, with Tielemans set to be available for nothing in the summer.
