Journalist claims Arsenal are ‘exploring’ possibility of signing 21-year-old
Duncan Castles that Arsenal are, once again, looking at a potential deal for Tariq Lamptey, with Brighton open to discussions regarding a move for the right-back.
Lamptey is back playing after a lengthy period on the sidelines with injury. He has completed 90 minutes in the Seagulls’ last two Premier League games.
In fact, he caught the eye of Arsenal supporters with his recent cameo against West Ham. On that occasion, the 21-year-old came off the bench to provide a superb assist for their stoppage-time equaliser.
And perhaps it may not only be the Gunners fans who took note of Lamptey’s recent form. Castles has suggested that the Arsenal hierarchy have reignited their interest in the former Chelsea starlet. And he added that Brighton will not stand in his way if their asking price for the youngster is met.
“Arsenal, who had an interest in Lamptey when he emerged on the scene in the Premier League, before that difficult injury, they are looking again to sign him and exploring the parameters of the deal,” .
“Brighton will be happy to have discussions as long as their price-tag for the player is achieved.”

Arsenal signed a new right-back in the summer. And Takehiro Tomiyasu has proved to be an absolutely inspired signing for the Gunners.
Having said that, Mikel Arteta may still want to strengthen in that area. The likes of Cedric Soares, Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Calum Chambers have all come in for criticism.
Admittedly, Lamptey’s former teammate Ben White was outstanding in the role against Norwich last time out. But obviously, he really did not need to be at his best against the struggling Canaries.
Signing a new right-back therefore, would be a smart move. And Lamptey is one of the most exciting players in that position in the Premier League.
But he has also proved that he can play further down the line. So Tomiyasu would not be the only Arsenal player Lamptey would be vying with for a spot in the side.
