Jose Mourinho’s transfer message for Frank Lampard last summer showcases his Kurt Zouma admiration

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma and it appears the Blues are open to a deal.

that Jose Mourinho is keen on a reunion with the player he managed at Chelsea and, , the Blues are ready to sell.

It is a deal that makes perfect sense for Tottenham, especially considering how high Mourinho rates him.

The Portuguese boss was in charge at Saint-Etienne when Zouma headed to England and was a firm believer in his ability to become a Chelsea first-team regular.

In fact, Mourinho made it clear just how big a fan he is of Zouma last summer.

last June, amid Chelsea’s transfer ban, Mourinho had a message for his former player Frank Lampard. He stated that Zouma was the answer to his problems.

“I just give an example: Chelsea needs a centre-back – Kurt Zouma. You don’t need to buy, you don’t need to spend. Zouma.

“He’s champion of England, he played for Chelsea, played for Stoke in the Premier League, played for Everton in the Premier League, played for France.

“He’s your player, he’s on loan, where are you going to buy a better player than him?

“You have him.”

Now it seems that Mourinho has not forgotten about Zouma with Tottenham in need of a new central defender amid Jan Vertonghen’s expiring contract and the indifferent form of several of Spurs’ current defensive unit.

Bringing in Zouma might be the solution.
