Jose Mourinho suggests Spurs man played very well at Brighton
Jose Mourinho has insisted – – that he was happy with the decision to pick Moussa Sissoko ahead of Serge Aurier for Tottenham Hotspur’s clash with Brighton on Sunday.
Aurier’s situation has been a talking point after he was taken off at half-time against Liverpool in midweek. And his absence from the squad that travelled to the Amex Stadium will have done little to quieten the speculation.

Interestingly, it was Sissoko who started on the right against the Seagulls. Unfortunately, it proved to be another disappointing night for Spurs.
They were beaten 1-0 and they rarely looked like finding an equaliser. Nevertheless, when Mourinho was asked about leaving Aurier out, he did suggest that he was happy with Sissoko.

“It’s a technical decision, and I’m happy with the decision because Moussa played very well,” he said, .
TBR View: Selection looks just as ominous for Matt Doherty
Sissoko’s inclusion perhaps does not bode well for Aurier. But there is also an argument that Mourinho’s decision almost looks just as ominous for Matt Doherty.
Doherty was the obvious replacement for Aurier. And yet, he remained an unused substitute on the south coast.
It has not been an easy time for Doherty since his summer arrival, and Sissoko being picked ahead of him on Sunday may be an alarming sign for what the future holds.
