Jose Mourinho rules Serge Aurier and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg out of Spurs’ next game
Jose Mourinho has confirmed that neither Serge Aurier or Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg will play for Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday, .
Mourinho goes into the clash with Royal Antwerp with a potentially tricky decision to make. Spurs are already through to the knockout stages of the Europa League.

However, they need a victory to secure top spot. So it would be no surprise if Mourinho still named a strong team for the game against the Belgian side.
But ahead of the contest, Mourinho has suggested that Aurier and Hojbjerg will not be involved. The right-back has a knock, while the Dane is being rested.

“Serge will miss the game yes because he had that problem before Arsenal,” he said, . “He had a reaction from the game. Pierre, no problems, just the fact that he couldn’t play again. Now is his time, because we always try to give a rest to some players.”
It looks to be a smart decision to rest Hojbjerg. The 25-year-old has been a revelation, particularly in recent weeks.
And while Thursday’s game does have some importance, there is surely no question that it is much more imperative that Hojbjerg is available for the weekend.
Losing Aurier meanwhile, is a blow. Like Hojbjerg, the Ivory Coast international has surpassed all expectations in recent times.
However, Tottenham have the depth to cope with not having him. Matt Doherty will be raring to go after losing his place in the Premier League side.
