Jose Mourinho comments on Danny Rose’s Tottenham future
Jose Mourinho has suggested, , that a decision has not yet been taken on Danny Rose’s Tottenham Hotspur future, but admitted that he has not spoken to the defender since January.
Rose left Spurs for a loan move to Newcastle United during the previous window. The left-back had appeared in just five of the 16 games Mourinho took charge of before his St James’ Park switch was confirmed.

Spurs fans would therefore, be forgiven for wondering if he has already played his final game for the club heading into the summer.
Mourinho however, insisted that all options remain on the table. But it was perhaps telling that he suggested that he has not spoken to Rose for some time.

“No, no decision is made,” he said, . “To be honest since he left, I didn’t speak with him. His feelings are important. His happiness is important. Steve Bruce and Newcastle I think they also deserve to have an important word on this situation.
“My club, Mr Levy, the player is our player and he has a contract. So I think everything is open, and of course we are on this for a couple of more weeks, three more matches, and after that, plenty of time to make decisions.”
TBR View: Mourinho not speaking to Rose looks more telling than claim nothing has been decided
It may not be uncommon for Mourinho to not be in regular contact with players he has loaned out. But it could be argued that it seems quite telling that he has not spoken to Rose since January.
His loan may well end with his future still up in the air. But it would surely not be too surprising for many Spurs fans if Rose does leave permanently once the campaign concludes.
