Jose Mourinho and Tottenham Hotspur signing Geoffrey Kondogbia would sting Arsene Wenger
Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in a deal to sign Geoffrey Kondogbia from Valencia. the Spanish side could be willing to sell Kondogbia for a fee in the region of €30 million (£26m) should they fail to qualify for the Champions League this season, despite his current €80 million (£70m) release clause.
Jose Mourinho is said to be keen on Kondogbia and it would be a deal that leaves Arsenal fans and Arsene Wenger jealous.
The Gunners have been linked with Kondogbia ever since he burst onto the scene at Sevilla.
Indeed, back in 2013, Wenger discussed the interest in Kondogbia, suggesting he was keen on the player. , the Frenchman made it clear that ‘everyone’ was after the then French youth international.
“I don’t really want to talk about Kondogbia too much because everyone’s after him at the moment.
“When you ask ‘Are you also interested?’ what do you expect me to say?”

Kondogbia, who has since gone on to represent the Central African Republic at international level, was linked again in 2015. Now at Monaco, that Arsenal had made a €35 million offer for the player.
Wenger never got his man. Kondogbia ended up going from Sevilla, to Monaco, to Inter Milan and, finally, to Valencia with injuries having something of a detrimental impact on his progress in Spain.
Now it seems his age-old rival Mourinho is hoping to lure the midfield dynamo to his former rivals Tottenham.
Tottenham fans would undoubtedly love to see it happen, especially if it leaves Wenger and Arsenal wondering what might have been.
