Jorginho says 23-year-old Arsenal player who hasn’t played this year is simply ‘sensational’

Arsenal star Jorginho has heaped praise on Fabio Vieira after the midfielder returned to the squad from his injury last night.

The Gunners were dealt a big blow in Portugal as Porto picked up a 1-0 win thanks to a 94th-minute goal from Galeno. Vieira was available at Mikel Arteta‘s disposal, but he remained an unused substitute.

Jorginho says Arsenal star Fabio Vieira is ‘sensational’

Arsenal signed Fabio Vieira from Porto back in the summer of 2022.

The Portuguese midfielder is a very talented player. He can play in a variety of different positions, has incredible vision and can score goals and provide assists.

Vieira has had his problems adapting to the English game, but he has shown flashes of his brilliance already in an Arsenal shirt.

Mikel Arteta called him a player with ‘enormous potential‘, and it looks like many of Vieira’s teammates share the same opinion.

Jorginho, who has shared the dressing room with some incredible players over the years, has branded Vieira as a ‘sensational’ talent.

Speaking to after Arsenal’s defeat last night, the Italian said: “Fabio is a sensational, hardworking boy, a boy that everyone likes, and we only wish the best for him, because he works a lot every day and always wants to improve.

“He’s a player who listens and when the team needs it, gives his opinion. And when the injury happened, everyone was very sad for him, but now he’s back and we hope he can help the team.”

Vieira could’ve made a big difference for Arsenal vs Porto

Porto played a game that was very frustrating for Arsenal in the Champions League last night.

The hosts didn’t just break play up by constantly fouling and winning fouls, but they were brilliantly organised and made it very difficult for Arsenal to penetrate.

Looking from the outside, it just seemed like the perfect game for Fabio Vieira. The 23-year-old, who is yet to play this year, can unlock stubborn blocks and could’ve really made a big difference if he was introduced last night.

Mikel Arteta probably didn’t want to risk him as he had just returned from his injury, but considering the return leg is three weeks away, there’s every chance Vieira will play in that game.
