Jordan Henderson says it’s amazing to play alongside Fabinho at Liverpool
Jordan Henderson has told Rio Ferdinand that he believes that Fabinho is the best holding midfielder in the world and claimed that playing with him in the Liverpool side is amazing.
The two players have now played together 100 times, . And it is fair to say that they have enjoyed some incredible success alongside each other.
Obviously, when people think about game-changing signings for Liverpool, the likes of Alisson, Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah come to mind immediately. But there is no question that Liverpool signing Fabinho has had a huge impact on the balance of their side.
Certainly, it is hard to argue with those who believe that the Brazilian is the best in that role in front of the defence. And Henderson is one of those, as he responded to Ferdinand’s question regarding his own best position.
“For me, he’s the best in the world at [being a number six]. I think he’s incredible, and a huge player for the way we play,” .
“When I play eight, to have him behind you is amazing really. It’s an incredible feeling to be able to go off and press and do your thing going forward.”

Fabinho must be getting used to receiving huge praise from his Liverpool teammates. The likes of James Milner and Thiago Alcantara have already spoken previously about how important he is to the team’s fortunes. The latter even described him as world-class.
Fabinho is one of those anomalies in football where there is no doubt that he is an unbelievably important cog in the Liverpool machine. And yet, it still feels as though he does not get anything like the credit he deserves.
There were even spells last season when he shone at centre-back. In fact, he was performing better in certain periods than a lot of clubs’ first-choice options in that area of the pitch.
And at 28, there is absolutely no reason why he cannot continue to be a key part of the Liverpool side for years to come.
