Jonjoe Kenny proved himself to Everton manager Marco Silva with England Under-21s display
Everton defender Jonjoe Kenny captained England’s Under-21s side on Thursday night and perhaps grabbed the attention of his club manager Marco Silva.
The right-back is a fringe figure at Goodison Park that has made just 12 senior appearances across all competitions this season, but got more minutes under his belt for the Young Lions.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored for England’s Under-21s in a 1-1 draw at home to Poland in a friendly.
Kenny delivered an impressive display on the international stage and was selected as captain alongside some experienced players.
The 22-year-old demonstrated his attacking qualities from the full-back area and was a constant threat down the right.
He saw a spectacular half-volley saved by the goalkeeper and his long-range shot had looked destined for the top corner.

Everton currently have Seamus Coleman as their first-choice right-back, but the door is certainly ajar for someone to overtake him in the pecking order as a result of his mixed performances.
Kenny sent out a statement to Silva that he’s improving as an attacking threat with his England performance and he will hope to get another opportunity during the remainder of the season .
The defender is a product of the club’s academy and has shown in glimpses his quality on Merseyside.
With Everton’s season slowly grinding to a halt, it could be a smart decision to include more of Kenny in the remaining games to see if he’s ready for permanent top-flight football.
