Jonjoe Kenny must show Marco Silva what he’s made of in Seamus Coleman’s absence

Seamus Coleman must hate playing Wales. The Republic of Ireland international suffered a horrendous double leg fracture against the Welsh last year. Now, he has suffered another injury during the latest meeting between the two sides. The Everton star and Ireland captain has a stress fracture in his foot and could be set for a spell on the sidelines.

It is a bitter blow for Everton, who have just recently welcomed him back from his previous ailment.

But it does present a chance to one of Everton’s bright young talents.

Jonjoe Kenny is an England under-20 World Cup winner considered a top prospect for the national team.

Last season he came on leaps and bounds and Everton fans were impressed by his gutsy showings in defence.

But once Coleman was fit, Kenny drifted back out of the first-team. At 21-years-old it is time for the youngster to start showing he can be trusted to one day battle Coleman for the first-team spot at Goodison Park.

Hopefully, he can show Marco Silva the best of his ability whilst Coleman is out.
