Jonjoe Kenny claims no contact over Everton future, makes one thing clear about his plans

Jonjoe Kenny has been discussing his future at Everton with 90min, as his loan move at Schalke comes to an end.

The England under-21 international will not play another game for Schalke, as he is suspended for the final game of the Bundesliga season this weekend.

So the future now turns to Everton, where he would have to battle Seamus Coleman and, potentially, Djibril Sidibe for the right-back slot.

But the talented defenderthat there has yet to be any contact with Everton regarding his future, whilst he also made it clear his aim was to play football on a regular basis.

“No, nothing’s really come from Everton yet…

“I can only speak for myself and what I’ve felt, but I played a good few times for Everton, I think it was 30-odd times, and I loved it.

“I had a moment when I wasn’t playing, and I want to play week-in, week-out – I’m not happy to be sitting on the bench. When Schalke came up to go out on loan, to give me the opportunity to go and perform, the idea that if I play well I’ll stay in the team, that’s all I wanted. That’s all I could really ask for from any manager, and it was the right thing at that point in my career.”

Kenny’s form at Schalke has certainly been a boost for Everton, even if the German side has been in a recent run of horrendous form.

The right-back would undoubtedly have plenty of suitors around Europe after his performances in the Bundesliga.

Everton, meanwhile, will need a long-term replacement for Coleman whilst Sidibe is still only a loanee from Monaco.

The Toffees are also being linked with more and more right-back options in the press, suggesting that Kenny might not be on the radar of Carlo Ancelotti.

Whilst Kenny has been somewhat inconsistent in his appearances for the Everton first-team, when given his chance, the majority of fans at Goodison Park would surely like to see their Finch Farm graduate finally get a chance to be a regular feature.
