Leeds United winger Dan James earned praise from Jon Newsome for his efforts in Saturday’s Championship win over Blackburn Rovers.
The BBC Radio Leeds presenter and Elland Road cult hero said the 25-year-old was “outstanding” as Daniel Farke’s charges triumphed in Lancashire.
James opened the scoring for Leeds in the 27th minute, drilling a low shot into the corner of Leopold Wahlstedt’s net.

Although the £25million man didn’t have too many more involvements in the game, his contribution was crucial as Leeds subsequently built on his opener.
Newsome told BBC Radio Leeds at half time, via the : “Blackburn have created one or two half chances, but Leeds should be a couple of goals ahead.
“Dan James has been outstanding, a player brimming with confidence, you could see that with the strike.”

Rovers improved after the break and had several chances to draw level, most notably through a Hayden Carter header.
However, with Leeds still holding onto a lead, they went on to double their lead in the 75th minute through a superb Crysencio Summerville effort.
A defence-splitting pass put the 22-year-old through on goal, and he proceeded to chip the ball over the incoming Wahlstedt and into the net.
James now has three goals in his last three Championship games and seven for the season, along with four assists from 18 league outings.
He’s clearly a cut above in the second tier and hopefully he and his teammates can get Leeds back into the Premier League at the first time of asking.
The Whites win keeps the pressure on the Championship’s top two, with both second-placed Ipswich and leaders Leicester winning in their 3pm kickoffs.
