‘Joke’: Graham Roberts absolutely fuming after what the VAR did during Tottenham vs Chelsea last night

Graham Roberts was left furious with the VAR’s decision to disallow Tottenham Hotspur skipper Son Heung-Min’s goal against Chelsea last night.

The Spurs legend took to last night and reflected on a ‘strange’ 90 minutes in North London.

Tottenham suffered a 4-1 defeat to Chelsea on Monday evening after playing an hour of the game with fewer players.

Dejan Kulusevski had got Spurs off to a flyer as he opened the scoring inside six minutes. But Cristian Romero was sent off for a reckless challenge on Enzo Fernandez in the 33rd minute before Destiny Udogie was also shown a red for a second yellow card in the 55th minute.

A late Nicolas Jackson hat-trick eventually sealed the three points for Chelsea but it could have been a different story for Spurs had Son Heung-Min’s effort stood.

The South Korean finished off an exceptional Tottenham move shortly after Kulusevski’s opener but was ruled offside by the VAR officials.

And Graham Roberts wasn’t happy with the decision.

Roberts furious at the VAR after Tottenham vs Chelsea

Roberts took to X this morning and slammed the VAR for their decisions throughout the game.

The Spurs legend was clearly unhappy with the tight call to rule out Son’s effort and feels VAR is ruining matches.

The call to rule out Son’s effort was certainly a close call and it’s frustrating to see goals like this disallowed when the attacker is gaining no real advantage.

Nevertheless, a lack if discipline is ultimately what let Spurs down on the night.

Both Romero and Udogie were fortunate to still be on the pitch before receiving their red cards.

While the duo have been exceptional for Tottenham this season, they did let their teammates down last night.
