John Terry says one Tottenham player is absolutely ‘world class’

John Terry has messaged Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane to call him “world class” following his Monday night heroics.

The Spurs sharpshooter scored twice and played a role in a third goal as Antonio Conte’s charges ran out 5-0 winners over Everton.

Tottenham made amends for their shock FA Cup exit with a simply sensational display against Frank Lampard’s side in north London.

Spurs got their first goal after just 14 minutes when Michael Keane fired Ryan Sessegnon’s cross into his own net under pressure from Kane.

Three minutes later, Son Heung-min got on the scoresheet as he fired the ball underneath Jordan Pickford’s body.

Kane once again played a part, threading the ball through to Dejan Kulusevski to assist Son for the finish.

The England international then got on the scoresheet himself in the 37th minute.

Kane latched onto a sublime Matt Doherty through-ball and fired home from just outside the box.

Sergio Reguilon added a fourth shortly after the restart, sweeping home from Kulusevski’s cross at the far post.

And Kane rounded off the scoring on 55 minutes, expertly volleying Doherty’s cross past Pickford.

Not long before the fifth, the 28-year-old delivered a great cross for Eric Dier, whose header hit the bar.

After the game, Kane took to Instagram with a message for the Tottenham fanbase:

And Terry responded with kind words:

It’s been an up-and-down season for Kane and for Spurs, but displays like those against Everton, Leeds and Manchester City show the talent is there and, when it clicks, they’re outstanding.
