John Terry posts two-word message to West Ham star Declan Rice

Declan Rice shared his delight on social media after West Ham’s win on Monday, which prompted a two-word response from John Terry.

Rice scored his first goal of the season in West Ham’s 3-0 Premier League win at home to Sheffield United.

The 22-year-old midfielder converted from the penalty spot in the first-half with a composed finish into the bottom left corner.

David Moyes’ side temporarily moved fourth in the league table before Chelsea’s win in the late kick-off, but they are firmly in the mix for the Champions League positions as it stands.

A European finish this season would’ve seemed highly unlikely for supporters at the beginning, but they are now in such a strong position and will feel they need to capitalise.

Terry, who is a Premier League legend and now Aston Villa assistant coach, response to Rice’s post with the words “on fire”.

TBR’s View:

Aged 22, Rice is already such a huge leader in the West Ham squad and the natural successor to Mark Noble as club captain.

The midfield enforcer is already a stand-in skipper in most games and his influence is massive at the London Stadium.

It’ll be great if he can add more goals to his game, but the England international shines in the team as a defensive midfielder alongside teammate Tomas Soucek.
