John Terry labels West Ham star best in the world in his position, after Liverpool win

John Terry has made a huge claim regarding West Ham star Declan Rice, after the Hammers beat Liverpool at the London Stadium on Sunday.

With Liverpool expected to beat the in-form Hammers, especially after David Moyes’ side played on Thursday night, West Ham surprised many.

Goals from Pablo Fornals, Kurt Zouma and an Alisson own goal proved too much for Jurgen Klopp’s side. Their 25-game unbeaten run is at an end.

Divock Origi came off the bench to score, after Trent Alexander-Arnold had netted a free-kick. But it was not enough for the Reds.

The win sees West Ham climb into a dizzying third place, as the Hammers go into the international break in electrifying form under Moyes.

New to Twitter, England and Chelsea legend Terry delivered an incredible verdict on Rice – claiming he is the best in the world, in his position.

Terry on Rice: Is West Ham star the best defensive midfielder in world?

It is an enormous claim, but one that is probably hard to argue with at the moment. Liverpool have a couple, Jordan Henderson and Fabinho.

The latter is probably most people’s choice, while Barcelona icon Sergio Busquets is also in the equation. Casemiro, at Real Madrid, too.

Other notable suggestions include Rodri, N’Golo Kante, Marcelo Brozovic, Fernandinho and Marco Verratti. But Rice is easily on that list.

Indeed, the West Ham star is probably the most in-form on that list, other than Fabinho. Terry’s claim certainly holds weight.
