John Terry has stark warning for struggling Tottenham star as Antonio Conte joins

Tottenham appointed Antonio Conte as their new manager yesterday. Spurs moved quickly to replace Nuno Espirito Santo after Saturday’s defeat to Manchester United. Now, John Terry has reacted to the decision and sent a to Harry Kane.

The former Blues central defender was the captain when Conte helped Chelsea lift the Premier League title. Terry is a Blues legend and clearly enjoyed working with the Italian.

The man who made 78 appearances for England was a Chelsea stalwart. But for six games on loan at Forest and 36 with Aston Villa, he spent his entire career with the Stamford Bridge-based giants.

Terry made 717 appearances for the Blues and captained the team to five Premier League titles, five FA Cup wins and three League Cup victories. He also lifted the Champions League and Europa League.

Tottenham fans are delighted with the appointment of Conte. They view him as the man their great club deserves a massive upgrade on Espirito Santo who was appointed in the summer.

The serial title winner will take charge for the first time on Thursday. Tottenham face Vitesse in the Europa Conference League in need of a win.

What has Terry said about Tottenham appointing Conte?

It seems as though the former defender has a message for the Tottenham player, with Harry Kane in particular receiving advice from the ex-England man.

Conte is something of a taskmaster. He will demand certain standards and it seems as though one of those involves working harder than the opposition.

Tottenham aren’t a million miles away from the top four and with a good run of form all isn’t lost during 2021/22 just yet. Conte will have aspirations of a top-four finish.

Conte faces arguably his biggest challenge in management at Tottenham; Terry, however, thinks the Londoners are in safe hands.
