John Obi Mikel says he’s been told Chelsea are signing a ‘fantastic player’

Chelsea are always active in the summer transfer window, and this summer will be no different.

The Blues are set for a busy summer after qualifying for the Champions League, and they’re already getting to work.

Geovany Quenda is set to join Chelsea, albeit next summer, while Chelsea want to sign Liam Delap too.

Chelsea already have a couple of deals arranged for some young talents as well – Willian Estevao and Kendry Paez.

Speaking on the Obi One Podcast, John Obi Mikel has been discussing Estevao and his potential, and he says that he’s heard that this young man is a fantastic player.

John Obi Mikel says Estevao is fantastic

Mikel shared what he’s been told about Estevao as he gears up to join Chelsea.

The pundit says he’s heard that the Brazilian is a fantastic player, although he advised caution around getting too carried away initially.

“The kid (Estevao), everybody’s asking about the kid, how good he is.”

“I haven’t watched him, but coming to the Premier League is tough. When you go to a big club it’s tough. It will take time, let’s not expect him to set the world on fire.

“He needs to settle and all that, but from what I’ve heard he’s a fantastic, fantastic player. We have to do some great signings, and I think we need a couple of experienced players,”

Willian Estevao stats this season

Estevao has been tipped as a top talent, and it’s easy to understand why.

At the age of just 18, the winger is already making waves over in Brazil, as his stats this season show.

Estevao has three goals in four games in the Copa Libertadores as well, so he is showing up on the big stages.

Chelsea’s youth recruitment model hasn’t quite paid dividends as of yet as players like Datro Fofana and Deivid Washington haven’t made much of an impact, but, by the sounds of things, Estevao could be a star in the making at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea fans have every right to be excited about this move.
