John Obi Mikel says Chelsea have two ‘fantastic’ players that can be ‘world class’ under Enzo Maresca

Chelsea are heading into a new era once again.

Indeed, Enzo Maresca has been brought in as the Blues’ new manager, and it’s fair to say that things are going to change at Stamford Bridge.

A new manager brings new ideas, and, hopefully, he’ll be able to get the best out of a number of Chelsea’s current underperforming stars.

Speaking on , John Obi Mikel has been discussing Chelsea’s path forwards, and he’s named two players who he believes can make a serious step up next season.

Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo can make a step up next season

Mikel spoke about the two midfielders, claiming that they could both make a serious step up next term.

“If we’re going to be successful next season, Enzo needs to find a way to get Enzo Fernandez and Caicedo, he needs to find a way to get the best out of these two players, because for me they are world class players, they are fantastic players,” Mikel said.

“We have Lavia as well. These are three fantastic players, find a way to get the best out of them just like Poch got the best out of Cole Palmer. If he can get these guys to perform, I am telling you Chelsea will be a different team next season.

Caicedo and Fernandez have the talent

Mikel says that Caicedo and Fernandez could be world class under Maresca next season, and it’s hard to disagree.

We’ve seen these two hit these sorts of levels before. Caicedo was arguably one of the best midfielders in the Premier League during his time at Brighton, while Enzo Fernandez was perhaps the very best midfielder at the World Cup.

If Maresca can get these two back playing at their best, they will be huge assets to Chelsea next season, and, as Mikel says, they could be world-class talents.
