John McGinn and Morgan Rogers gutted after seeing transfer news coming from Aston Villa

Aston Villa have been very busy this summer as a number of players have come and gone from Villa Park over the past few weeks.

Villa have spent and received over £100m already this summer, and they may not be finished yet as more incomings are rumoured and Jhon Duran is being linked with a departure.

Aston Villa announced the departure of Moussa Diaby on Wednesday evening as the French winger headed off to Al-Ittihad after just one season in the Midlands.

Diaby wasn’t necessarily Villa’s best player over the past 12 months, but he seemingly did make a big impression behind the scenes as a number of players appear to be upset about this departure.

John McGinn and Morgan Rogers gutted about Moussa Diaby departure

Moussa Diaby posted a message to the Villa fans on his Instagram, and a number of his teammates reached out to wish the winger well.

There were many players who wished the attacker good luck in Saudi Arabia, but both John McGinn and Morgan Rogers both sent similar messages stating how much they will miss the Frenchman.

Diaby will be missed

Diaby’s departure may not be the biggest of blows in a footballing sense, but in terms of how this move affects the dressing room, there could be a serious impact.

The messages Diaby has received suggest that he was a very popular member of the squad, as was Douglas Luiz.

The dynamics in the Villa dressing room have seriously changed this summer, and we can only hope that so much chopping and changing doesn’t upset the applecart and Villa can continue to push both domestically and on the European stage next season.

Diaby may have only spent one season at Villa, but in that 12 months he seemingly established himself as a very popular player at the club, and as McGinn and Rogers say, he will be missed.
