John Hartson thinks Celtic have signed two players which Brendan Rodgers didn’t approve
Doubts have been raised in recent weeks on whether or not Brendan Rodgers had complete control over all of Celtic’s transfers over the summer.
Journalist, Peter Martin, first raised the point almost two weeks ago when he said he had doubts about Rodgers’ say in who Celtic brought in this summer.
That was followed up a couple of days later when Mark Guidi also claimed that the Celtic manager wasn’t ‘hands-on enough’ in the summer and just went with what the club gave him.
And now, it’s the turn of John Hartson. With Maik Nawrocki struggling to get gametime and Celtic apparently allowing Gustaf Lagerbielke to leave the club in January, Hartson thinks that Rodgers didn’t want either of the defenders at Celtic this season.
Hartson said [], “It tells me that he didn’t have a lot to do with signing these players.
“I think if Brendan Rodgers had signed [Maik] Nawrocki and [Gustaf] Lagerbielke he would have been more willing to work more with them and give them some more opportunities.
“But obviously, I don’t think he was and I think you might see a lot of players leave.”

January is certainly going to be a big transfer window for Celtic, With Rodgers deadset on adding more quality and trimming the squad, there will be a lot of movement for the Celtic fans to keep up with.
With the team needing reinforcements in some key areas, Rodgers will be looking to the Celtic board to splash some of the hordes of cash they have stuffed in the bank account after the club’s latest impressive financial results were published.
Whatever happens in January, the Celtic fans will be hoping and praying that Rodgers can get the players he wants to help bolster the title run-in for the second half of the season.
