John Collins claims 24-year-old on-loan Hibernian attacker is good enough to play for Celtic
Celtic’s transfer business comes under the spotlight once again after Brendan Rodgers’s side struggled to overcome Hibs at Easter Road last night.
Two penalties were required to get the best of the Edinburgh side and looking at the overall team performance, there seems to be a creative spark missing from the side.
Brendan Rodgers admitted that himself in his assessment of the team’s performance and John Collins reckons Hibs have the very man that could offer that to the Parkhead club.
The former Celtic hero was seriously impressed with 24-year-old Comoros international, Myziane Maolida.
Collins said [], “I’m liking what I’m seeing. At this moment in time with the skill and quality he’s got, that’s what Celtic could be doing with.
“He gets the ball in and around the box, little scissors, good feet, switches it left to right and gets his shots off.
“He looks like he could be a good player.”
Is Myziane Maolida good enough to play for Celtic?
Before he joined Hibs, I had never even heard of the winger. Maolida is currently on loan from German side, Hertha Berlin.
The 24-year-old was a product of French side Lyon’s youth academy and was back in 2018.

In 2021 he moved on to Hertha Berlin for €4m and was then farmed out on loan to Rennes the following season and then onto Hibs this January.
In 162 first-team career appearances, Maolida has scored 30 goals and created 11 assists. He has two caps and two goals for his country. []
Since joining Hibs, Maolida has scored once in three appearances. His performance of the season came in the 2-2 draw with Kilmarnock where he was rated 7.6 [] after an impressive second-half substitute appearance.
Is Maolida any better than what Celtic already have? I’ll reserve full judgement until the end of the season but for now, looking at his current stats, I would have to say no.
