John Barnes shares the ‘problem’ Liverpool have ahead of Man United game on Sunday

Liverpool face Manchester United on Sunday, and the Reds head into this game as favourites.

Liverpool look strong this season under Arne Slot, while Manchester United have faltered at the beginning of this campaign once again.

United lost against Brighton last week, while they were very lucky to escape with a win on the opening day against Fulham.

Liverpool will be hoping to turn their great rivals over again, but speaking on , John Barnes has shared a concern he has ahead of this game.

The pundit says that Liverpool have a problem in that they don’t know which United team will turn up this weekend and whether they will try to sit back and defend or go toe-to-toe with Liverpool.

The problem Liverpool have against Manchester United

Barnes spoke about the Reds and their match against United.

“The problem we have on Sunday is that we don’t know which Man United are going to turn up,” Barnes said.

“If they turn up and play the way they did against City in the FA Cup final where they just defend deep and recognise they’re against a so-called better team, they’ll cause us problems.

“But if they decide to go toe-to-toe with us on transitions and our pace, we’ll give them a whole load of problems.”

Arne Slot will be ready

Barnes says that United’s unpredictability is a problem for Liverpool, but Arne Slot will surely be ready for this.

Slot has already shown this season that he’s prepared to change his style to suit his opposition.

Liverpool struggled in the first 45 minutes against Ipswich Town on the opening day, but Slot made the necessary changes to his system and the Reds then dominated.

Depending on how United come out against Liverpool on Sunday, Slot will be able to adapt his team, and the Reds may well be able to get the better of Erik ten Hag’s side tactically.

This could be an interesting matchup.
