John Barnes says £4m Liverpool player is going to explode under Arne Slot after watching training

Liverpool are stepping into a new era under Arne Slot, and things have started very well.

The Reds have won each of their opening two games in the Premier League, and we’re starting to get a real feel of what this Slot team will look like this season.

Speaking on , John Barnes has been discussing Liverpool under Slot, and he’s tipped Harvey Elliott and Curtis Jones to kick on under the new manager.

Indeed, Barnes went out to the USA on tour with Liverpool this summer, and he says that after watching the Reds do more technical work in training, Elliott and Jones will thrive.

John Barnes tips Harvey Elliott to kick on

Barnes spoke about the man and the new Liverpool manager.

“Well it’s not just early days in terms of the first two matches. I was on tour with them in pre-season and they were doing a lot of work technically. They’re going to be a much more technical team in midfield, not as high-energy, not as heavy metal,” Barnes said.

“The technical players in the midfield, that is going to suit them, the Harvey Elliott’s, the Curtis Jones’, it’s going to suit them, it’s not going to be the old Henderson, Fabinho, Milner.”

Harvey Elliott could thrive under Arne Slot

Harvey Elliott could seriously kick on under Arne Slot.

Of course, Elliott was developing brilliantly under Jurgen Klopp, but he could go to another level under his new manager.

Not only is Slot’s style more technical – which suits Elliott to a tee, he also utilises a number 10 in his preferred 4-2-3-1 formation, allowing Elliott to finally play in his preferred position in this Liverpool team.

It may take a little bit of time for Elliott to earn a starting spot in this team, but there’s reason to believe that Elliott could eventually become a superstar in this Liverpool team under Slot.
