John Aldridge predicts trio of Liverpool outcasts will leave the club

John Aldridge has told the that he can see Liverpool trio Dejan Lovren, Adam Lallana and Xherdan Shaqiri all leaving in the summer.

The ex-Reds striker was discussing how Jurgen Klopp goes about strengthening his squad after a dominant season.

Liverpool are 16 points clear at the summit of the top-flight and look on course for their first Premier League crown.

The Reds also have a game in hand on Manchester City and look unstoppable at the moment.

Aldridge believes some players will depart in the summer to make room for Klopp to create an even better squad.

“Improving a Liverpool winning machine is a tough task, but Klopp and Liverpool’s transfer maestro Michael Edwards need to consider how to do that later this year because standing still is not an option.

“I can see Lovren, Lallana and Shaqiri leaving, so Klopp will want to replace them with young and hungry players who fit his mould.”

None of the three mentioned by Aldridge have been regulars in the team this season.

Lovren has spent time out injured this season, whilst Lallana and Shaqiri have played in the cups and acted as backup options for the first-team.

Consistent

Due to Liverpool’s rampant form, Klopp hasn’t needed to chop and change his team.

That has made life difficult for Lovren, Lallana and Shaqiri to have any real impact on the first team.

All three could leave and Klopp would still be well-stocked for options.

The German hasn’t been afraid to utilise the club’s younger talents. Harvey Elliott, Curtis Jones and Neco Williams have all played well when called upon.

Aldridge is right that Liverpool shouldn’t stand still and he will surely have a list of players he’d like to sign if some are moved on.
