John Aldridge delivers verdict on Rhian Brewster as Liverpool exit talk ramps up
Liverpool legend John Aldridge has said he would not blame Rhian Brewster for leaving Anfield, as speculation over his future continues.
The youngster is reportedly a target for Crystal Palace at the moment, with the likes of Sheffield United, Leeds United and Aston Villa having all been linked at various points in the current window.
Yesterday, Palace chairman Steve Parish denied his club had made a £25 million bid for the English talent, branding the claim as a ‘total fabrication’.

It remains to be seen if Brewster will seal a move to Selhurst Park, but his exit from Liverpool is seemingly a distinct possibility.
In the eyes of Aldridge, Brewster is well within his rights to leave.
: “If he’s not going to get games at Liverpool in the foreseeable future having seemingly now moved further down the pecking order, you can’t blame him for wanting to move on.
“It would be shrewd to have a buy-back option though because Liverpool are then covering themselves with a kind of insurance policy, having put years worth of training and development into the boy.”
TBR’s View – Brewster’s time is now
Given his talents, it is vital for Brewster to be getting regular football now.

Unfortunately for him, the level of Liverpool’s front three is just so high that he just isn’t going to get that at Anfield.
And not only are Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane, and Mo Salah all brilliant players, but their injury records are also extremely impressive. It is rare any of them are out for weeks at a time.
Aldridge is right, Brewster can’t be blamed for moving on if he does depart – and such a decision could be the making of him.
