Johan Lange backs £15m player to explode at Tottenham
Tottenham Hotspur director Johan Lange has backed Timo Werner to acclimatise quickly to life at Spurs.
The Tottenham chief, in conversation with the club’s , said the January signing has experience in playing in a style similar to that of Spurs.
Werner was one of two first-team players Spurs brought to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the January transfer window.
With Tottenham needing attacking reinforcements, they decided to sign the 27-year-old on an initial loan from RB Leipzig until the end of the season.

Spurs also have the option to sign Werner permanently for a fee of £15million, according to .
Werner has made four Tottenham appearances to date, all of them starts, and has registered two assists to date.
Lange feels the January signing has made a decent start at Spurs, and has backed him to explode once he gets up to speed fully with Ange Postecoglou’s tactics.
When asked what Werner would bring to Tottenham, Lange replied, as transcribed on : “I think Timo is an offensive player who has massive experience from top level football.
“Being in the Bundesliga, the Premier League and the Champions League and of course with the German national team.
“He’s also a player who for most of his career has played in a style that’s not too dissimilar to ours which means his adaptation period could be relatively short and it’s been good to see him already affecting games quite early on.”
Timo Werner gets second Premier League chance with Tottenham move
Tottenham have given Werner a route back to the Premier League after a two-year spell at Chelsea between 2020 and 2022.
During this time, the German international scored 23 times in 89 appearances in all competitions, before moving to Leipzig 18 months ago.
However, Werner registered just 14 appearances and two goals for them in the first half of this season, and the Bundesliga club duly allowed him to go elsewhere for first-team football.
No doubt the former Chelsea man will feel he has a point to prove in the Premier League after a difficult stint last time round, and now he has his chance. Let’s hope he goes on to prove his former Premier League employers wrong.
