Joelinton posts on Instagram after Newcastle move, £22.5m star drops hint
Joelinton has posted on Instagram after completing a club-record move to Newcastle United from German Bundesliga side Hoffenheim – and a £22.5million reported Toon target has dropped a hint by liking the upload.
Brazilian ace Joelinton, 22, has put pen to paper on a six-year deal at Newcastle with the move believed to be worth a whopping £40million. He has been handed the iconic number nine shirt.
He becomes Newcastle’s first summer signing, and OGC Nice winger Allan Saint-Maximin could become the club’s second addition. Newcastle are interested in Patrick Vieira’s star, and would cost £22.5million.
Joelinton posted on Instagram after a move was confirmed, describing Newcastle’s fans as “amazing” and that he is “so happy”. Saint-Maximin dropped a hint using Joelinton’s post, by liking it just hours after being linked.
TBR’s view – Newcastle’s lethal front three, with Saint-Maximin
With Joelinton now signed, he is likely to be used as a striker given that he has been handed the iconic number nine shirt. With Miguel Almiron one side, Newcastle now need to replace Ayoze Perez on the other side.
The signing of 22-year-old Saint-Maximin would give Newcastle a lethal looking front three, bursting with speed, goals and flair. Saint-Maximin’s pace is electric, and would certainly help Newcastle on the counter attack.
Combining the flair of Almiron, the power and goals of Joelinton and the trickery and speed of Saint-Maximin, Newcastle could have an exciting front three under Steve Bruce.
