Joe Willock says Newcastle have a ‘massive’ player he’d absolutely hate to fight

Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul was the landmark sporting event of the weekend during football’s international break.

Of course, that has led to a lot of discussion about boxing within the footballing community, and Newcastle’s squad have been discussing the sweet science.

Indeed, in a video posted on TikTok, Newcastle’s players have been discussing which player they’d least like to fight in their own squad.

Dan Burn would certainly be a problem in a boxing match due to his incredible size and reach, but one player was mentioned way more than any other.

Indeed, the Newcastle players were adamant that they wouldn’t want to fight Joelinton, with Joe Willock claiming that the Brazilian is ridiculously strong.

Joe Willock wouldn’t fight Joelinton

Willock responded when asked which Newcastle player he’d least like to fight.

The midfielder says that he would hate to face Joelinton in a boxing match, pointing out that the £40m man is simply too strong.

Joelinton = beast! 😂🥊

“Who out of the current squad would you not like to face in the boxing ring?” Willock was asked

“Joelinton,” Willock said.

“Why?” Willock was asked.

“Have you not seen the veins in his arms and his legs? He’s massive,” Willock said.

How strong is Joelinton?

The Newcastle squad clearly believe Joelinton is a very strong player, but just how strong is he?

Joelinton recently stated that he’s stronger than Arsenal’s Gabriel Magalhaes, which is no easy feat.

Gabriel has been praised as one of the strongest players at Arsenal, and the fact that Joelinton thinks he’s a match for the Arsenal defender is telling.

Joelinton’s strength is also a huge part of the way he plays.

The midfielder is averaging 2.5 tackles per game this season, and he’s able to come away from those challenges with the ball because he’s able to outmuscle almost any player in the Premier League.

Who knows? Perhaps Joelinton could have a future in boxing if he wanted to. Curtis Woodhouse went from being a Premier League player to being a boxing champion, and maybe that’s a path Joelinton could also follow.
