Joe Rodon: Country’s 86-cap hero sends message to Spurs star on Instagram amid Euro 2020 form
Ashley Williams was amongst those to laud Spurs star Joe Rodon on social media as the defender posted a message on Instagram ahead of Wales’ Euro 2020 last 16 tie.
Robert Page’s men booked their spot in the knockout stages on Sunday. Despite losing in Italy, the Welsh held onto second spot thanks to a superior goal difference over Switzerland.
And Wales now know who they will face in the last 16. Denmark’s victory over Russia on Monday ensured that they would finish second in their group.
And with that, the pair will meet in Amsterdam this weekend for a place in the quarter-final.
Obviously, many may feel that Wales’s hopes largely rely on the likes of Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey. But they will also be looking for another colossal display from Rodon at the back.
The Tottenham starlet has been a revelation so far this summer. His most recent display was lauded in the Welsh media.
And Rodon has now been praised by a handful of figures associated with Spurs or the Welsh national team.

Spurs seeing at Euro 2020 what Joe Rodon could become
Rodon’s form comes after a mixed first season in North London. At times, he produced some fantastic displays.
However, he did not manage to hold down a regular spot under Jose Mourinho.
And surprisingly, Ryan Mason seemed incredibly reluctant to use him towards the end of the campaign.
Tottenham fans probably needed little reminding of how good Rodon can be. But his performances at Euro 2020 may still be providing an exciting glimpse of what the future could look like for the centre-back.
