Joe Hart says he was always fighting and arguing with Aurier after Spurs training

Joe Hart is now Celtic’s number one goalkeeper after leaving Tottenham during the summer.

The former England number one’s stock fell after he was sold by Pep Guardiola, as one of his first acts as Manchester City manager in 2016.

He joined Spurs as backup to Hugo Lloris under Jose Mourinho before Nuno Espirito Santo let him go, having made some

Speaking on the Hart said that he used to love winding up his Spurs teammates in training, including Serge Aurier.

“I loved being out there and calling them out. Serge Aurier I loved arguing with and fighting with after training. I loved it,” he said.

“I suppose if you’re an outsider looking in and you didn’t know what you were doing, you would be like ‘Joe Hart is chirpy, who does he think he is speaking to him? He’s second choice at Tottenham.’

“But they loved it, I know they loved it. There would be days were I would be dealing with world class players and I couldn’t get anywhere near it.

“But they couldn’t get their head around why I was still standing up going ‘you’re miles off it, I’m not even trying and you’re celebrating when you score’.”

Aurier has since moved on to Unai Emery’s Villarreal, who stunned Juventus earlier this month and will face Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Hart’s Spurs exit has worked out for the best too; he is playing regularly for Celtic, who are on course to grab their Scottish Premiership crown back.

Mourinho presumably brought Hart in because he did not have many players who had won the Premier League in his ranks and wanted to add his character to the group.

The Englishman clearly enjoyed fighting and arguing with his teammates before Pierluigi Gollini was brought in during the summer on loan to take his place as second choice goalkeeper.
