Joe Allen comments on Stoke future amid reported interest from West Ham
Joe Allen is being linked with a move from Stoke City to Premier League side West Ham United before the end of the January window, and he has responded to rumours suggesting he could move to London.
earlier this month that David Moyes was eyeing a £12million move for the 29-year-old, who is playing a crucial role in Stoke’s resurgence under former Northern Ireland manager Michael O’Neill.
Former Liverpool and Swansea star Allen has been constantly linked with a move back to the Premier League since he was relegated with Stoke to the Championship. The 53-time Wales international has a contract until 2022.
Asked about West Ham’s reported interest and whether he could leave the Britannia Stadium this month, l that he is likely to remain with The Potters – “as far as he knows”.
“I think I’ll be here as far as I know,” Allen said. “You know what January is like for every player, rumours are flying about, but nothing’s happened that I’m aware of and I think there’s a huge job to be done here at Stoke.”

TBR’s view – West Ham need Allen, especially at £12m
West Ham need central midfielders. After missing out on Gedson Fernandes who moved to Tottenham, Moyes remains left with just Mark Noble and Declan Rice as viable options in the middle of the park.
Carlos Sanchez is nowhere near the required standard, while Jack Wilshere remains on the sidelines through injury. At £12million, Allen is not only a bargain, but he is also needed for cover at east London.
