Jerome Boateng available: Daniel Levy should make statement signing for Tottenham
Bayern Munich are said to be open to the idea of selling Jerome Boateng this summer, according to Bayern chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge. He is quoted by several sources, as making it clear if Boateng wanted to join a club who made an approach for him, the offer would be entertained. Â
Manchester United have recently been linked with the player, but is this the perfect opportunity for Tottenham Hotspur to make a massive transfer statement this summer?
The Whites are in danger of losing Toby Alderweireld. His wage demands are not going to be met by Spurs who do not want his contract running down any further.
If the Belgian is going, a top quality replacement is needed. As good as Davinson Sanchez is, his inexperience has cost Spurs in big games.
Boateng would be the perfect recruit to play alongside Jan Vertonghen at centre-back. Still only 29-years-old the 71-cap German international, whose brother Kevin once played for Spurs, would be a shrewd addition to the Tottenham camp.

He would be expensive. But Spurs have money to spend this summer and, perhaps even Alderweireld would be a suitable option as part of an exchange deal?
Wages would be a concern as well. But Tottenham have recently splashed out to keep Harry Kane at the club. he is on £120,000-a-week. That would be a fair wage and one which would send a statement from Spurs that they are now willing to pay for top talent.
Spurs need experience. It became abundantly clear that this was the case in their defeat v Juventus in the Champions League.
Boateng would be the perfect answer to those problems.
Hypothetically, say he costs a few million plus Alderweireld? That would not be the worst deal for both Tottenham and Bayern, who’d be getting a more than adequate replacement.
Boateng is the marquee signing Daniel Levy should sanction this summer to send a message to his Premier League rivals.
