On many occasions this season, Rangers have been accused of being a one-man team. Many pundits have claimed Rangers are over-reliant on Alfredo Morelos.
The 22-year-old has scored 23 goals in 39 games for Rangers, helping them mount a bid for the title.
But the problem with Morelos is his discipline; he already has four red cards this season.
In January, Steven Gerrard moved to sign Jermain Defoe on an 18-month loan deal to ease the burden on Morelos.
And Defoe was forced to start in consecutive league games against Kilmarnock and St Johnstone with Morelos serving yet another suspension.
Since arriving in January, the veteran striker scored three times in seven games, but he has not found the net in either of the last two games.
With Morelos unavailable, Rangers needed Defoe to step up and prove that they were not reliant on their hot-headed Colombian striker.
But Defoe has been unable to break the deadlock in either game with both ending in goalless draws.
Rangers seem to lack that killer instinct without Morelos and that could be costly in the title race.
Defoe needs to find his sharpness quickly to prove why Rangers are not relying on Morelos in their quest for success.
