Jeremie Aliadiere explains importance of new Arsenal signing Thomas Partey
that he is delighted with Arsenal’s work in the transfer window, explaining the importance of the signing of Thomas Partey and also commenting on the arrivals of Willian and Gabriel.
Partey, 27, finally arrived at Arsenal earlier this week after completing a deadline-day move to the north London club from Atletico Madrid – following the Gunners’ decision to activate the £45million release clause in his Atleti contract.
The Ghana international completed a move in Madrid before jetting off to represent his country, but has now arrived in London and could be available to play for his new side as the Gunners travel north to take on Manchester City on Saturday.
Former Arsenal star Aliadiere was asked about the Gunners’ summer window and he believes that Mikel Arteta and Edu have done what was needed – bringing in players like Partey, Willian and Gabriel, and offloading the likes of Matteo Guendouzi.

“So looking at that, seeing the players they got in during the summer, I think it is a very good window and the club has done very good business,” “Only Arteta can judge what he needs in the team and what he sees in training.
“There has been issues with [Matteo] Guendouzi, he managed to move him out the club, [Lucas] Torreira too. And the club definitely needed that big central midfielder and they got him [Thomas Partey].
“Getting in a central defender was key too. The position has always been critical for Arsenal. So that looks like we’re looking strong there now [Gabriel Magalhaes]. The addition of Willian who is a top, experienced player, we look a very strong team.”

TBR’s view – Can Partey take Arsenal back into the top four?
Arteta has got Arsenal firing again. The Gunners have an identity that was missing under Unai Emery, and are working hard for their manager – also missing under the former PSG boss Emery. Adding Partey into that mix will help.
Certainly, he adds a big piece in a near-complete jigsaw. Now, the Gunners are one step away from having a side that can fight for the title – and that is a top-class replacement for Mesut Ozil. But they are certainly in with a shout of the top four.
