Jeff Stelling shares his honest opinion on Archie Gray leaving Leeds United for Tottenham
Tottenham Hotspur have snapped up their first signing of the summer in Archie Gray and Jeff Stelling has some concerns over the move.
The Leeds United youngster has joined Spurs and penned a six-year contract in a deal which sees him join for £40 million.
According to , Ange Postecoglou was key in convincing the Gray to make the switch to Tottenham after the youngster was nearing a move to Brentford.
Gray racked up 52 appearances under Daniel Farke last term and enjoyed a real breakthrough season in the Championship.
His impressive form led to interest from the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City. But Spurs have pipped their Premier League rivals to the signing of Gray, with Joe Rodon also completing a permanent move to Elland Road after a successful loan spell under Farke last term.
However, Jeff Stelling isn’t totally convinced that joining Spurs is a wise step for the youngster at this moment in time.

Stelling delivers verdict on Gray to Tottenham
Speaking on [02/07, 9:39 am], Stelling raised concerns over a potential lack of game time just an hour before Gray completed his move to Tottenham.
“I mean, he (Archie Gray) is just a kid. You just wonder whether, and maybe the club have got no options, but you do just wonder whether it would have been better having another year or two in their first team,” he said.
Gabriel Agbonlahor echoed the host’s concerns and added: “You don’t want him to go and then does he start if he went to Spurs as well.”

Gray should get plenty of opportunities at Tottenham
There’s no getting away from the fact that this does feel like a big move for Gray, especially when you consider he is just 18 years old.
With just a season of Championship football under his belt, a move to Spurs represents a huge step up for the youngster.
But he proved he was more than up to the task at Leeds last season and with Tottenham returning to the Europa League, he should get an opportunity to impress Postecoglou.
Gray also offers Postecoglou a versatile option due to his ability to play in midfield as well as right-back.
Should Emerson Royal head out the door as expected this summer, Gray would be the natural choice to replace Pedro Porro if the Spaniard picked up an injury.
