Jeff Stelling has big question for Arsenal as they prepare to offload Aaron Ramsdale to Wolves
Arsenal are looking to fine-tune their squad before deadline day as they aim to mount another Premier League title challenge.
Riccardo Calafiori joined the club from Serie A side Bologna earlier this summer and a deal to bring Mikel Merino to Arsenal is edging closer after he was left out of Real Sociedad’s squad for their La Liga opener.
The Gunners are also looking to move on some of their fringe players before the transfer window slams shut.
Aaron Ramslade falls under this category with Wolverhampton Wanderers locked in talks to sign the Arsenal goalkeeper.
And Jeff Stelling has fired a transfer warning to the Gunners as Wolves look to press ahead with a move for the England international.
Arsenal warned against premature Aaron Ramsdale sale

While Stelling believes Ramsdale is right to move on in search of regular game time, he feels Arsenal should draft in a suitable replacement before sanctioning a sale.
With Karl Hein already sealing a move to La Liga side Real Valladolid on loan, the pundit admits Arsenal would be short-staffed between the sticks if Ramsdale moves on, leaving David Raya as the only senior goalkeeping option at the club.
“He has done nothing wrong. He is a good goalkeeper and we all accept that,” Stelling said on (7:24 AM, Aug 20).
“He deserves and he is good enough to be playing in the Premier League for a decent side.
“He has been linked with Wolves, I get that completely. The question for Arsenal is you can’t go into a season just having a number one goalkeeper, you need a quality back-up as well.
“Have they got that now? I honestly don’t know.”
What next for Arsenal if they sell Ramsdale?
Arsenal are in talks to sign Joan Garcia from Espanyol as Ramsdale’s replacement.
The Spain Under-21 international reportedly has a price tag of £21m and has been earmarked as the man to deputise for his compatriot Raya between the sticks.
Wolves want to sign Ramsdale on an initial loan deal but it remains to be seen if such an arrangement would work out for Arsenal.
The Gunners would prefer cash upfront to reinvest into their squad, which would allow them to make a move for Garcia.
As for Ramsdale, a move to Wolves would allow him to get regular game time under his belt. The 26-year-old is currently second choice for Arsenal and England, so playing week in and week out could appeal to him at this stage of his career.
