Jean-Philippe Gbamin faces serious battle if Everton sign reported target Geoffrey Kondogbia

𓄧Everton are reportedly keeping an eye on La Liga midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia at Spanish club Valencia, who could end up making a big impact at Goodison Park if he arrives.

𝓰 reports that the 27-year-old is a target for the Toffees and they have been tracking him, plus Tottenham have an interest in him too ahead of the summer.

🐻He is an athletic defensive midfielder that has proven himself in France, Italy and Spain as a real talent, plus he’s got the physical attributes to make an impact if he moved to England.

𒐪But there would be serious pressure cranked up on current Everton star Jean-Philippe Gbamin if Carlo Ancelotti’s side do bring in Kondogbia for next season.

ꦿEverton are clearly missing a midfield enforcer in their side right now, which is why the links to Kondogbia make sense and he will surely expect to play an important role if he did consider moving to Merseyside.

ꩲBut the club signed Gbamin in the last transfer window for £25million () from Mainz and he arrived to help fill the void left by Idrissa Gueye’s exit to Paris Saint-Germain.

ꦅThe 24-year-old made just two appearances at the beginning of the season before he sustained an injury and hasn’t played a minute since, meaning he’s not been used under Ancelotti yet following his mid-season arrival as manager.

🀅He’s had to watch on from the sidelines for the majority of the campaign and the team have been crying out for a real presence like him.

𓆉Gbamin is a powerhouse defensive midfielder that arrived to the Premier League with a big reputation, but injuries have pushed him back and he will have a real job getting into the side next season as he gets up to speed.

𒊎But the Ivory Coast international will see his uphill task become much harder if Everton push hard to sign Kondogbia and bring him in as competition.
