Jean-Kevin Augustin posts on Twitter for the first time as a Leeds player

Leeds United have confirmed a deal to sign Jean-Kevin Augustin on Twitter which sees the French striker join the club on an initial loan deal until the end of the season, with a view to a permanent switch – and he has posted on Twitter.

Augustin, 22, has finally replaced the void left by Eddie Nketiah and is expected to rival Patrick Bamford for the striker role in Marcelo Bielsa’s side side. He has enormous pedigree, having come through the ranks at Paris Saint-Germain.

A France Under-21 international, Augustin clocked up more than 30 senior appearances for the French champions before moving to the Bundesliga to join RedBull Leipzig – where he played 67 times for the German side.

Despite his tender age, he managed to score 20 goals in Germany’s top tier – as well as laying on eight assists. However, the form of Timo Werner convinced Julian Nagelsmann to let Augustin move to Monaco on loan in the summer.

However, a difficult time back in his home country saw Augustin score just one goal in 13 games. Now, Leeds have agreed a loan-to-buy deal with reports claiming that Leeds can buy the striker for £18million if they want a permanent deal.

Moments after the official Leeds Twitter account confirmed the move, Augustin posted on Twitter to post for the first time as a Leeds player. He joked, after liking plenty of Tweets from Leeds fans: “No more likes. It’s official.”
