Jason Cundy ‘very concerned’ by West Ham transfer rumour he’s heard
West Ham United have been one of the more active Premier League clubs with regards to transfer activity, with three new signings over the line.
Luis Guilherme, Wes Foderingham and Max Kilman have all joined the Hammers in recent weeks. A lot of speculation with other players has also been doing the rounds.
For instance, West Ham have been linked with the likes of Nice’s Jean-Clair Todibo, Villarreal’s Alexander Sorloth and Manchester United’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka, to name but three.
In recent days, there has also been speculation linking the Hammers with one of the best midfielders in recent Premier League history.
However, talkSPORT broadcaster Jason Cundy has expressed serious concern over said transfer rumour, and has urged West Ham to be “very careful”.

Jason Cundy warns West Ham over N’Golo Kante interest
The player in question is Al-Ittihad and France midfielder N’Golo Kante, who the Hammers are said to be trying to sign this summer.
In addition, the 33-year-old is said to be eager on a Premier League return and favours playing in London, two boxes that West Ham tick.
Cundy spoke about links between the Hammers and Kante on Friday evening () and expressed concern over his injury record prior to moving to the Saudi Pro League.
“Be very careful, be very careful because N’Golo’s injury record within the Premier League, his last two or three seasons at Chelsea, he really did struggle with injuries,” said the former Chelsea man.
“And I think one of the reasons why he has had a bit of a renaissance in his career is the fact that he has been playing in the Saudi league, which is very different taxing on the body.
“The level of football, the intensity in the Premier League is totally different.
“I would be very, very concerned. Top player, we saw in the World Cup how good he was, but I would watch that one.”
West Ham will surely be mindful of Kante fitness
Cundy does make a good point. Kante struggled with his fitness in his last few years in the Premier League before moving to Saudi Arabia, and this is something West Ham’s staff will surely be mindful of.
That said, Kante managed just fine at Euro 2024. Indeed, he looked back to his very best in some games, and didn’t do badly in the defeat to France either. He also managed 120 minutes against Portugal.
It might be different week-in, week-out in the Premier League – not to mention the domestic cups – but no doubt the Hammers would take this into consideration if they make a breakthrough in talks.
In addition, West Ham won’t be playing in Europe next season, and while this is obviously a disappointing position to be in, it also means less workload for Kante were he to join.
