Japhet Tanganga shares his honest verdict on Ange Postecoglou after being sent out on loan by Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur defender Japhet Tanganga has shared his feelings on Ange Postecoglou’s arrival at the club, before he left on loan.

Having returned prematurely from his loan with Augsburg, where he didn’t play a single Bundesliga minute, Tanganga has now joined Millwall for the remainder of the campaign.

The 24-year-old has already played four times for the Championship side, proving the switch should pay dividends.

Admittedly, Tanganga was suffering with a knee injury when he arrived in Germany, which really didn’t help his chances of eventually breaking into the first team.

But now back fit and ready to progress his career, Tanganga has been speaking to about his season so far.

And as part of the chat, Tanganga did lift the lid of what it was like working with Postecoglou at Tottenham before he left.

The England youth international appeared to suggest that he felt as if he was a good fit for the club’s new style and trajectory, but ultimately he did still depart.

But all in all, Tanganga was very impressed with the new Spurs manager’s impact, saying it’s now paying dividends.

Japhet Tanganga said Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham arrival was a breath of fresh air

The defender, who has a with Tottenham until the summer of 2025, seems optimistic for both his and his parent club’s future.

Tanganga said: “Like I said, I was there in pre-season and the gaffer at Spurs, he obviously came in with his methods and like I said, it’s been working well for the team.

“It suits me as well, how he plays. So when he came in it was kind of like a breath of fresh air and stuff.

“But like I said, it’s working well for them and it’s about, as a player, you’ve got to adapt to what the manager wants and that’s how you progress your career.”

Of course, several Tottenham players have made the adaption Tanganga mentioned since Postecoglou came in.

Richarlison seems an obvious name to mention, someone who has benefited a lot from Postecoglou’s man-management

But perhaps the likes of Cristian Romero have been particularly receptive to Austrailian’s ideas, adapting his game a lot from the Antonio Conte era.

All that being said, Tanganga did also find time to compliment a player who arrived at the club this season.
