Jan Vertonghen sends message amid reports Spurs are pulling out of European Super League
Tottenham Hotspur controversially signed up to the European Super League, but it looks as though the project is collapsing just two days after its creation.
On Sunday night, the football world was rocked by the news that 12 leading European teams, including Spurs, were looking to establish a new midweek competition to rival the Champions League.
Along with Tottenham, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Arsenal were also involved.
The six Premier League teams were joined by AC Milan, Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Inter Milan, Juventus and Real Madrid from continental Europe.
However, Chelsea and Manchester City reportedly began proceedings to withdraw from the competition on Tuesday amid backlash from many fans, pundits and even players and coaches.
And has now claimed that all of the clubs involved in the controversial plans are meeting on Tuesday night to disband the idea.

As well as reportedly looking to withdraw from the European Super League, Spurs are also on the lookout for a new manager.
Jose Mourinho was sacked on Monday, with Ryan Mason installed as interim first-team boss until the end of the season.
