Jamie Shackleton messages Leeds teammate Ryan Edmondson on Twitter
Jamie Shackleton has told Ryan Edmondson to behave on Twitter after the Leeds United striker admitted that he was not good enough during the under-23s’ win over Crewe on Monday.
Carlos Corberan’s side picked up another three points in a tough game against Crewe. But they needed a late goal from Pascal Struijk to settle the contest which had looked set to finish 1-1.

It was Shackleton who had broken the deadlock. The first-team star spent the first-half on the pitch and scored a wonderful goal as the break loomed.
The finish was superb from the midfielder. But there was also some excellent work from Edmondson in the build-up as the striker ran with the ball from just inside the Crewe half, before finding Shackleton on the edge of the box.

Despite the assist, Edmondson took to social media after the game to suggest that he was not happy with his own performance in the victory…
Wasn’t good enough from me personally however the boys dug deep and we got the job done. Congrats to and pascal on the goals lads. Onto Friday???⚽️

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Shackleton was having none of Edmondson’s assessment of his own display. The 20-year-old was quick to respond by insisting that he was being too harsh on himself.
Here is Shackleton’s response to his teammate…
Edmo behave lad, great shift today ??

TBR View – Edmondson wrong to beat himself up
It would be extremely unfair to be too critical of any player’s performance from the win. The conditions were incredibly tough at times, with the rain and the wind seemingly making it difficult for either side to produce many moments of quality.
Leeds fans will certainly appreciate Edmondson’s attitude however. Plenty have been backing the youngster for a first-team chance following Eddie Nketiah’s recall.
The supporters will love the fact that the former York City man is setting high standards for himself. And they will also appreciate Shackleton making sure that Edmondson is not beating himself up over a performance that was arguably solid given the conditions.
