Jamie Reuben responds to Gabby Agbonlahor claim about Newcastle transfers

that he believes Newcastle will struggle to attract players due to the City – and Jamie Reuben has reacted.

Newcastle’s new owners face the challenge of attracting players to the club to help them avoid relegation. But with the club in 20th, it will be difficult.

However, the riches of the club’s new owners certainly help the club in attracting players. A few wins between now and then would help, too.

Agbonlahor told TalkSPORT – – that it might not only be the club’s position in the league that sees them struggle to attract players.

“When I was playing in the Premier League, Newcastle was the place where you wasn’t sure. I didn’t want to go, it’s far up north, the weather.

“Players want to be close to London. If you offered a player £40k a week at Newcastle, or £30k a week at Brentford, they would go to Brentford.”

The Reuben brothers own a 10% stake in Newcastle and Jamie is on the board. He responded, with a Tweet that will have delighted Toon fans.

Reuben responds: Is Agbonlahor claim about Newcastle true?

Newcastle is a brilliant City, with plenty to offer. Not only that, but it is a massive football club, with a big stadium – and now, a financial incentive.

It is exciting to be a Newcastle fan. They can afford any player in the world. The area of Tyneside is not going to be the problem in January.

The issue is going to be being able to bring players to the club because of the threat of relegation. But that can be solved with loan deals.

The likes of Philippe Coutinho and other big names have been linked. They will not want to join, and then get relegated six months later.

But Coutinho would surely want to be involved in a loan deal – and then potentially sign on permanently with Premier League status secured.
