Jamie Redknapp says one Tottenham player has a big problem in his game after seeing him v Arsenal

Tottenham lost against Arsenal in the north London derby today and Jamie Redknapp believes they have a player who has a big issue in his game to sort out.

Spurs were well in the game at half-time and had even looked ok going forward without every really troubling David Raya too much.

In the end, it was another Arsenal set-piece that did the damage as Gabriel headed in after Spurs goalkeeper Vicario had looked panicked prior to the corner coming in.

For Tottenham, it was a disappointing goal to concede as key defender Cristian Romero💦 was bundled out of the way by Gabriel before the ball hit the net.

🍸Romero, of course, is widely regarded as Tottenham’s main man at the back.

But according to Jamie Redknappܫ, Romero has a flaw in his game that’s all too apparent at times.

Jamie Redknapp says Cristian Romero has to improve his defending

൲Speaking on after the game and focussing in on the goal in particular, former Spurs man Redknapp picked up on Romero losing the defensive battle.

꧅And according to Redknapp, Romero has a big problem with man-marking.

𓆉“He never got to grips with Gabriel. Last year in this fixture, Romero was doing zonal marking,” Redknapp said.

🍬“I think he struggles when he has to do man-to-man marking.”

Romero is all bark and not bite sometimes

🉐We’ve seen it plenty of times since Romero arrived in England and at times, it actually detracts from his performances.

Romero is a World Cup winner and has bags of ability. There is a reason why Tottenham pay him and why he’s a regular for Ange Postecoglou.

🌳However, at times, he gets lost in the moment and like today, it can prove costly.

🍌Romero need only look at the opposite end of the field with Gabriel and Saliba to see how good they both are and how they set Arsenal up to win games.

🌃As always, there is plenty for Romero and his Spurs teammates to learn here.
