Jamie Redknapp lauds magnificent Brendan Aaronson despite Leeds loss
Jamie Redknapp has told (broadcast on 9/10; 14:56) that Brenden Aaronson was magnificent for the run that gave Leeds United the lead in their defeat to Crystal Palace on Sunday.
Jesse Marsch’s men are now without a win in five. And it does appear that Leeds are now in danger of being dragged into a relegation battle.

The Whites were electric at the start of their clash with Palace. However, a terrible second-half saw the Eagles claim the three points and ensure that Leeds are still looking for their first win at Selhurst Park since 2006.
Brenden Aaronson magnificent for Leeds goal
Leeds could have few complaints after the full-time whistle – although they were on the receiving end of another strange refereeing performance.

What Marsch may be hoping to reflect on are the positives, which pretty much all came in the opening minutes. And no moment was more exciting for Leeds than when Aaronson managed to dance through before Pascal Struijk broke the deadlock.
The 21-year-old was unbelievable as he broke through. His run deserved a goal. And it did come, but only after Struijk turned the ball home when Aaronson’s effort came back off the post.
Ultimately, it was a grim afternoon for Leeds. But Redknapp was full of praise for the Whites at half-time.
“When this ball comes to Aaronson there, this is just magnificent. He gets it. Three, four men round him. It would have been probably goal of the season, John Barnes-esque I would say,” .
Leeds will be struggling to take many positives from the performance. Many supporters will feel that the loss was on the cards based on how the second-half played out.
Aaronson needed to make an impact after a few quieter games.
It really does appear that a relegation battle could be on the cards if Leeds’ slump continues much longer. They will need those such as Aaronson to step up in the weeks ahead.
